Copy Cat- Mark Birchall

Cat was small and Dog was Big,
and when Dog did, Cat did too,

When Dog went dinosaur hunting,
Cat went dinosaur hunting with her.

When Dog balanced on the high wire,
Cat balanced on the high wire too.
"Copycat," said Dog.

When dog went digging for pirate treasure,
Cat also went digging for pirate treasure.

And when Dog went deep-se diving,
guess who went deep-sea diving with her?

So when Dog went to explore the Moon
and the planets and the stars, she made sure
that her spaceship had room for only one on board.

She didn´t know that Cat had a spaceship just like hers.
"Copycat," said Dog." 2 Copycat, copycat, copycat!"
Why must you always follow me? You go everywhere that  I go,
and you do everthing that I do!"

Next day, when Dog went hunting dragons, Cat wasn´t there.

He wasn´t there on the next day eigher,
when Dog went to discover the North Pole.

And on the daay after that, Dog went to play soccer.
But where was Cat to play soccer with her?

" I wish I didn´t got so mad at him," said Dog.
"Sometimes it´s more fun if there are two of you to do things together."
And she went to say"sorry".
"Come in," said Cat in the teeniest, teeniest, most faraway voice.
There he was, tucked up in bed and covered all over with spots.

"Oh, Cat, I was worried."
I haven´t seen you for ages," said Dog.
"I never thought I´d miss you so much."
" I´ve missed you as well," whispered Cat,
"but I was too ill to come and see you."
"Never mind," said Dog.
"I´ll soon make you better."
Ans she made him special get-well-soip, and gave him special feel-beter-medicine.

Se read him exciting adventures storeis, ntil he fell fast asleep.

In the morning, Cat felt good as new again.
He went to find Dog.
But she  wasn´t in the dinosaur park.....

..or on the pirate island....

.....or in the moon ...
... .or any of the other places that she liked to vist.
Where could Dog be?

" Copycat!" said Cat.
"Now it´s my turn to make YOU better!"

"Why don´t we write a story?" said Wolf.
" I am a librarian, you know, and librarians know a lot about stories."

"Hmmm, I´m sure I´ve heard someyhing that befor" said Rabbit.
" Never mind that," said Wolf quickly.
"Let´s get on with the story!"

"But how do we start?"asked Rabbit.
" You need to "USE YOUR IMAGINATION!"

It´s making up word and pictires in your head to tell a story", explaaind Wolf. " And, of course, there´s really only one way to begin a story........
"ONCE UPON A TIME!"

"But  what is our story going to be about?" asked Rabbit.
"Well", said Wolf. "USE YOUR IMAGINATION!"

"Space rockets!" cried Rabbit. "BIG explosiotions!"
And bananas. We need LOTS of bananas!!!"

"Oh,I don´t think so", said Wolf.
" What we need is a something ...

" Oh, you probaly don´t need a thing," smiled Wolf.

I was thinking of somewhere ...tree-y," said Wolf.
"Oh, what about a forest? squeaked Rabbit.
" Now, that´s a good idea," said Wolf

Katie and Starry Night - James Mayhew

Katie and Grandma loved t go on trips together.
Sometimes, for a treat, Grandma took Katie to the art gallery.

One day, they went to see some paintings by Vincent van Gogh. Katie`s favourite was called The Starry Night.
“It looks magical,” she said. “Like a dream.”

“Talking of dreams”, said Grandma, “I could do with a nap.”

Katie looked more closely at the picture.
The stars seemed to be moving Grandma was almost asleep, so quietly climbed through the picture frame and into the painting…
The dazzling stars sparkled and swirled.
They looked close enough to touch, so Katie reached out…and grasped one!
"I must show Grandma, “She said, putting the star safely in her pocket.
Jumping back into the gallery, Katie saw some others stars twirling after her.
“Perhaps they want to play! “She laughed, jumping up to catch them. But she couldn’t quite reach.

“Humm, I need something to stand on,” said Katie.

She saw a picture called Vincent´s Chair.” That´s perfect!” she smiled.
Katie quickly dragged the chair out of the picture, as mores stars tumbled into the gallery.

But, even sanding on the chair, Katie couldn´t reach all the stars and some floated into another picture called Noon. She decided to chase after them and so climbed through the frame.

Young couples were napping in the shade on a hot summer´s day. The stars tumbled into the sky, and night soon fell upon the countryside.
The women, whose name was Marie, woke up.
“Oh, look at all the stars!” she said.” “Surely they don´t belong in this painting.”
“ Er…no,” said Katie, “ would you help me catch them?”
Climbing up the haystack, Katie and Marie had a wonderful time jumping to catch the stars and landing in the soft hay.

But when they jumped back into the gallery, the spinning stars slipped through their fingers once again.
“We must get them back in their painting before the gallery guard sees they´re missing!” said Marie.
But even Marie wasn´t tall enough to catch them.

“Look there´s a ladder!” said Katie, spotting a picture called The Olive Grove. She quickly clambered through the frame.

Women were gathering olives from a tree.  “Please, can I borrow your ladder?” asked Katie.
“I have to catch some stars!” The ladies laughed. “Ma chérie, you cannot catch stars.”
“You can, with a ladder,” said Katie. “Came and help me!”

They all raced back into the gallery, and the olive pickers held the ladder steady as Katie climbed up to catch the twirling stars. It was tricky work because the stars wouldn´t keep still! The more Katie tried to catch them, the more they spun away.
The stars were drifting towards another painting called Fishing Boats on the Beach. “Come on! We must to catch them!” said Marie. They all climbed inside.

In the picture, the stars were caught on a breeze and twirled out to sea. “How will we reach them now?” asked Marie.
“Let´s take a boot,” said Katie.”Oh, yes! said Katie.
“Oh yes! A boat ride!” said the olive pickers, giggling.

They sailed across the sea as the stars sparkled in the sky. “Oh, what shall we do?” worried Marie. “The stars are so high.” Katie saw a big fishing net in the boat. “Let´s try this!” she said.
They all threw the net as high as they could… and caught the stars! “At last!” said Katie, as everyone cheered.

Back in the gallery, they all quickly ran to The Starry Night picture. “Now, we can put the stars back before the guard finds out,” said Katie.
They threw the stars into the sky but it didn´t look quite right.”What´s that in your pocket, Katie?” asked Marie.
“My star!” said Katie.” I wanted to show in to Grandma.”
“But it might float away again,” said Marie. “Put it in The Starry Night and then you can see whenever you want.”
So, Katie threw the star up into the painting.
“Thank you, everyone,” said Katie. “We did it!”
“And now we must return to our pictures, too” said Marie. “Ao revoir, ma chérie!” "Goodbye!” called Katie.

Katie put the chair back where it belonged, just in time, as the gallery guard came past. “ Phew!” said Katie. “Hello!” “Good afternoon,” he said.
And the Grandma woke up. “Oh, I must have a nodded off” she said.”I had a lovely dream about stars.” Katie giggled.

That night, Katie and Grandma looked out of the window. It was beautiful starry night.
“The stars look almost alive,” said Grandma.
“Perhaps they are,” laughed Katie.
Grandma smiled.” Perhaps,” she said.”Goodnight, Katie!”

Mary had a little lam

Mary had a little lamb,
Little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow

And everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go

It followed her to school one day
School one day, school one day
It followed her to school one day
Which was against the rules.

It made the children laugh and play,
Laugh and play, laugh and play,
It made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school

And so the teacher turned it out,
Turned it out, turned it out,
And so the teacher turned it out,
But still it lingered near

And waited patiently about,
Patiently about, patiently about,
And waited patiently about
Till Mary did appear

"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
Love Mary so? Love Mary so?
"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
The eager children cry

"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."
Loves the lamb, you know, loves the lamb, you know
"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."
The teacher did reply

Incy Wincy spider

Incy wincy spider climbed
up the water spout,
Down came the rain
and washed poor Incy out,
Out came the sunshine
and dried up all the rain,
So Incy wincy spider climbed
up the spout again.

Little miss Muffet

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and whey,
Along came a spider,
Who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away.

Round and round the garden

Round and round the garden
Like a teddy bear.
One step, two step,
Tickle you under there.

Hey diddle diddle

Hey, diddle, diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon;
The little dog laughed
To see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.
